Stay the Course

Today we drove to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, about 2 hours from our home. Ron is seen by Dr. Lin, a Colorectal Cancer specialist there, about every 2 months. The doctor prescribes the treatment plan  carried out by Ron's local Oncologist. Here is what we learned today:
1) Ron continues to do very well on this chemo regiment.
2) There are two new drugs being approved by the FDA which are an option for him (he has the KRAS mutation).
3) Clinical trials also continue to be a possibility.
4) Ron will have a PET scan next month, as it has been quite awhile since his last one. If any "hot spots" happen to be found, the doctor recommends radiation to those target areas.
5) As for now, we will "stay the course!"

Glad to hear Ron is still on course.
Just an interesting thought here...on an ovarian forum that I visit, there are trials in cyberknife. Not a knife, really, but a pin-pointed radiation of nodes. Might be an upcoming option for Ron. You can google the word and read.
Blessings to the two of you and hope your Christmas is filled with peace, joy, and family.
